A dental implant is a small titanium screw placed in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once it has fused with the bone, it supports a crown, bridge or full arch that looks, feels and works like a natural tooth. Implants are today the most durable and comfortable solution for missing teeth.
Why choose dental implants?
- Natural look and feel – the crown is made to match your other teeth.
- No damage to neighbouring teeth – unlike a bridge, healthy teeth do not need to be cut.
- Protects the jawbone – implants help prevent the bone loss that follows tooth loss.
- Long-lasting – with good care, implants can last for decades.
- Comfortable eating and speaking – no moving dentures.
The treatment step by step
- Examination and 3D scan: a panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan shows the bone volume and the safest implant position.
- Implant placement: the implant is placed under local anaesthesia; the procedure usually takes 30–60 minutes per implant.
- Healing (osseointegration): over about 3–4 months the implant fuses with the bone. Temporary teeth can be worn during this period.
- Final teeth: on your second visit, the abutments and the final zirconia or porcelain crowns are fitted.
Most international patients complete treatment in two trips: about 5–7 days for placement and 7–10 days for the final teeth.
Implant brands we use
We work with internationally recognised systems, and your dentist will recommend the most suitable one for your case and budget:
- Straumann (Switzerland) – premium implants with excellent long-term research.
- Neodent (Brazil, Straumann Group) – reliable quality at a more accessible price.
- Bego (Germany) – German engineering with very good stability.
Who can get implants?
Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are suitable. If the bone is not sufficient, a bone graft or sinus lift may be needed first. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes can slow healing, so please tell us about your medical history.
Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia. Mild swelling or discomfort for a few days is normal and is controlled with simple painkillers.
Can I get teeth on the same day?
In selected cases temporary teeth can be fitted immediately. Your dentist will advise after the 3D scan.
